Wyoming High School Golf Scoreboard: Aug. 14-16, 2024
It’s official! The prep golf season in Wyoming for 2024 is underway during the second full week of August. There are four events over three days during Week 1. This begins the six-week fall season. This year leads up to championships events in Sheridan (Class 2A), Rawlins (Class 3A), and Afton (Class 4A) on Sept. 20 and 21, 2024.
WYOMING HIGH SCHOOL GOLF SCHEDULE WEEK 1 2024
Here is the schedule for Week 1 of the golf season. All schedules are subject to change. If you have an update, you can email david@wyopreps.com. The results for each event will be posted below each event.
Wednesday, Aug. 14:
Douglas Invite – at Douglas C.C., 11 a.m. – Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Douglas, Glenrock, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, Rawlins, Torrington, Wheatland.
Madeline Key of Kelly Walsh has a 1-shot lead over the rest of the girls' field. Wheatland's Tate Nichols scorched the course for a 65 and leads the boys' division by 11 shots. The Douglas girls have the team lead on their home course, while the Wheatland boys lead their team race.
Powell Invitational – at Powell G.C., noon – Buffalo, Campbell County, Cody, Lander, Lovell, Powell, Sheridan, Thermopolis, Thunder Basin, Worland.
Day 1 was canceled due to weather - 1 round on Thursday only.
Thursday, Aug. 15:
Douglas Invite – at Douglas C.C., 9 a.m. – Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Douglas, Glenrock, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, Rawlins, Torrington, Wheatland.
Maddie Brace of Douglas rallied and won the girls' title by five shots. Tate Nichols of Wheatland won by six strokes for the boys' medalist honor. The Douglas girls and Wheatland boys won the team titles.
Glenrock JV Invite – at Glenrock G.C., 9 a.m. – Campbell County JV, Glenrock, Kelly Walsh JV, Lusk, Natrona County JV, Sundance, Thunder Basin JV, Wheatland JV, Wright.
Braeden Reid and Grady Neumiller of KW tied for the medalist honor by shooting 74. The girls' results are being worked on...
Green River Invite – at Rolling Green C.C., 10 a.m. – Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Kemmerer, Laramie, Lyman, Pinedale, Riverton, Rock Springs, Star Valley.
Tazlyn Wagner of Kemmerer and Ryker Lind of Evanston have the Day 1 individual leads. The Evanston girls and East boys have the team lead after Day 1.
Powell Invitational – at Powell G.C., 8:30 a.m. – Buffalo, Campbell County, Cody, Lander, Lovell, Powell, Sheridan, Thermopolis, Thunder Basin, Worland.
Camryn Wagner of Sheridan beat her teammate by five shots for the girls' medalist position. Hayden Overfield of Thermopolis won the boys' division by two shots. The Sheridan girls and Campbell County boys won the team crowns.
Friday, Aug. 16:
Green River Invite – at Rolling Green C.C., 9 a.m. – Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Kemmerer, Laramie, Lyman, Pinedale, Riverton, Rock Springs, Star Valley.
Tazlyn Wagner of Kemmerer was the girls' medalist by 10 shots. Ryker Lind of Evanston captured the boys' division by 7 shots. The Evanston girls and Cheyenne East boys were 1st in the team division.
