
Countdown to State: Week 6 Cross-Country Action Heats Up In Wyoming
Only two weeks remain in the 2025 prep cross-country regular season in the Cowboy State. Several teams will compete out of the state on Thursday to begin the Week 6 schedule. Friday features races in Cody, Rock Springs, Thermopolis, and Wheatland. Wright hosts an event on Saturday. Five more schools will compete out of state on Friday or Saturday, including Wyoming Indian at the Lakota Nation Invitational in South Dakota.
2025 WYOPREPS WEEK 6 CROSS COUNTRY SCHEDULE
Here is the Week 6 schedule for cross country. All schedules are subject to change.
Thursday, Oct. 2:
Out-of-State Events:
Bob Conley Invitational in Pocatello, ID – Evanston, Jackson, Mountain View, Star Valley.
Gracie Visser from Star Valley placed 7th in the girls' race. Star Valley was 3rd, Evanston 10th, and Jackson 12th in the girls' team standings. Colton Cranney from SV was 4th, and Breck Barton of Evanston finished 8th in the boys' division. Star Valley placed 3rd as a team, Evanston took 8th, and Jackson was 10th in the boys team standings.
Sturgis Invitational Cross Country Meet in Sturgis, SD – Campbell County, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, Newcastle, Sheridan, Thunder Basin.
Lexi Longhurst from Kelly Walsh won the girls' race. Six more Wyoming girls were in the top 10. KW took 1st in the team standings, followed by NC, Sheridan, and Thunder Basin in the top four. Aadan Luna of Sheridan won the boys' race. Seven more Wyoming boys were in the top 10. Sheridan finished atop the boys' team standings. NC, KW, and Thunder Basin rounded out the top four. Campbell County and Newcastle also placed in the top 8.
Friday, Oct. 3:
Bobcat XC Invitational at Thermopolis G.C. – Arapahoe Charter, Thermopolis.
Jakae Elder and Jadeth Elder were the race winners.
Cody Foxes and Hounds at Olive Glenn G.C. – Big Horn, Buffalo, Burlington, Cody, Lander, Lovell, Powell, Riverton, Worland.
Lyla Marney of Big Horn won the girls' race. Cody was 1st in the girls' team standings. Ethan Rayo of Buffalo took 1st in the boys' race. Worland came in 1st in the boys' team standings.
Rock Springs ‘Tough Pumpkin’ Invite at White Mountain G.C. – Evanston, Green River, Lyman, Rock Springs, Wind River; out-of-state = Manila, UT.
Girls Team Scores = Rock Springs 24, Green River 62, Evanston 64.
Boys Team Scores = Rock Springs 37, Green River 49, Lyman 77, Evanston 92.
Aria Wheeler of Rock Springs captured first place in the girls' race. William Maes of RS won the boys' race. Rock Springs swept the team titles.
Wheatland Cross Country Meet at Lewis Park – Burns/Pine Bluffs, Cheyenne South, Douglas, Rawlins, Rock River, Saratoga, Wheatland.
Raelyn Goff won on her home course. Douglas topped the girls' team standings. Noah Blasi of Rawlins finished first in the boys' division. He led the Outlaws to a 1st-place finish in the team standings.
Out-of-State Events:
Pat Amato Classic in Northglenn, CO – Cheyenne Central, Laramie.
Keiran Giraldo from Laramie was 10th in the girls' race. Laramie placed 5th in the team standings. Race Morrell of Central won the boys' race at 15:43.76. Laramie was 15th in the boys' standings.
Scottsbluff Distance Festival in Scottsbluff, NE – Cheyenne East, Torrington.

Saturday, Oct. 4:
Brittany Rentas Memorial at Hay Creek G.C. in Wright – Glenrock, Lusk, Moorcroft, Rocky Mountain, Sundance, Tongue River, Wright.
Maci Lyons of Lusk was the winner of the girls' race. Glenrock was 1st in the girls' team standings. Tobyn Teigen of Wright finished 1st in the boys' race. Glenrock also placed at the top of the boys' team standings.
Out-of-State Events:
Lakota Nation Invitational Cross Country Meet at Rapid City, SD – St. Stephens, Wyoming Indian.
Marysa Trumbull of Wyoming Indian was 9th. The Lady Chiefs finished 2nd in the team standings. Colton Sun Rhoades was the top finisher from Wyoming Indian in 6th place. The Chiefs took 2nd as a team. St. Stephens was 10th.
