How Are Wyoming Dairy Queen’s Celebrating The Blizzard In April?
After a couple years of not doing it, Wyoming Dairy Queens gave out free ice cream cones to kick off spring.
It seems the nations first ice cream chain isn't stopping with the spring fun. They've announced the return of the S'mores Blizzard as the April Blizzard of the Month.
DQ has also announced that it was in 1985 when the beloved Blizzard was invented and changed the ice cream game. So, in honor of that, they'll be offering small blizzards from April 10th - April 23 for just $.85.
Dairy Queen opened it's first store in 1940 and the ice cream giant hasn't looked back. In the 1950's, they began to add other options for customers. Milk Shakes and Malts, banana splits and dilly bars. In the 60's they added more options and the same for the 70's .
It wasn't until 1985 that DQ changed the ice cream game by introducing the Blizzard.
Everyone has their favorite Blizzard flavor, but if you were to pick the top, these would be on the list.
- Cookie Dough
- Peanut Butter Cup
Personally, my favorite isn't just one of those flavors, but a combination of a couple.
Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter Cup with a drizzling of hot fudge.
I've always liked the cookie dough blizzard and I've always liked the Peanut Butter Cup blizzard. One day I couldn't decide, so I had them throw both in. Then I saw them dipping hot fudge onto a sundae for a kid in line, so I asked them to add a little of that too.
