Art Museum Participates in Nationwide Free Museum Day
The University of Wyoming Art Museum will open its doors for free on Saturday, Sept. 29, while participating in a nationwide event. Museum Day Live! is an annual event sponsored by Smithsonian magazine. Museums across the country and the state will open their doors for free for those who have tickets to the event.
Walmart Hosting Event for Make-A-Wish Wyoming
Local Walmart stores across Wyoming will participate in a fund raiser for Make-A-Wish Wyoming. Beginning tomorrow, September 22, Walmart stores will team up with Straight Talk Wireless to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s to Take Place at Farmers Market
The Downtown Farmers Market is a summer time favorite of many in Laramie, and this Friday there will be a special booth at the event. In addition to all the normal vendors, the 2012 Walk to End Alzheimer’s will have their own booth to register to walk in their event at 5:00 p.m. the same day.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation, or WYDOT, is in the process of discussing plans for the reconstruction of Grand Avenue between 15th and 21st Streets in the year 2014. Several changes are planned for the reconstruction project, and many of these changes have been long awaited by motorists, pedestrians and cyclists using Grand Avenue every day.
Are You Getting a Flu Shot This Year? – Survey of the Day
We all hate to admit it, but cold and flu season is just around the corner. In fact, a nasty bug has already been working its way through the people of Laramie. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, recommends all people over 6 months of age get a flu shot this season. The CDC says it is especially important for people with certain medical conditions (like asthma or diabetes), pregnant women and caregivers to get a flu shot. We want to know if you plan on receiving a flu vaccination this season.
