YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — Offering good news for those tiring of winter, the concessioner that runs lodges, restaurants and activities in Yellowstone National Park says it will start opening park facilities in late April.

Xanterra Parks & Resorts says all park operations will up and running by mid-June in time for the summer season.

The Old Faithful Snow Lodge Geyser Grill and gift shop will be first to open on April 20, followed by the Mammoth Hot Springs gift shop and grill on April 27. The major lodging facilities will open throughout May.

Campgrounds start to open on May 4 with the Madison Campground, followed by Fishing Bridge RV Park on May 11.

The park itself reopens to automobiles in April when the major roads are cleared of snow.
