The Wyoming State Fair celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, and they have several events to make this anniversary celebration one to remember. All the activities you are used to seeing at the state fair are back for another fun filled year, and there are even some great new events to make this years’ fair even more memorable.

The Wyoming State Fair will take place in Douglas, WY and will be held Saturday Aug. 11th through Saturday Aug. 18th.

The Wyoming State Fair will be packed with rodeo action beginning with the Ranch Rodeo on Sunday August 12th then continuing with PRCA action Thursday Aug. 16th through Saturday Aug. 18th.

The state fair will still host a large carnival, something many people look forward to all year long. The carnival will be open everyday of the state fair, and even offers all day passes and mega ride passes for those of you who just can’t get enough carnival action to ride all day long.

As is expected, there is some great musical entertainment lined up for this years’ fair. Featured bands include Western Underground, The Doo-Wah Riders, The Guess Who, Chauncey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band, Dierks Bentley, and Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers.

Other traditional events at the state fair include the State Armwrestling Championship, Antique Tractor Pull, Sheep Dog Competition, Demolition Derby, Cattle Dog Competition, and pig wrestling.

The state fair has also added several new events for their 100th Anniversary Celebration. New events include a Sheep Wagon Contest, Dutch Oven Contest, Metal Arts Contest, Wyoming Fiddlers Championship, and the Coolest Pickup Contest.

The Wyoming State Fair is proud to celebrate its 100th Anniversary. While the events and activities offered at the event may have changed over the years, the values and spirit of the state fair have remained strong throughout these 100 years.
