Last week, the weather had an impact on some of the teams ranked by the coaches/media...and it may happen again this weekend.

Thunder Basin is now the unanimous #1 ranked team in 4A boys. Last weekend's tie game at home didn't have any effect on the voters. Rock Springs and Cheyenne Central maintain the #2 and #3 ranking this week. The Tigers have big games at home this weekend vs. both Casper teams, which could either clear up or cloud up the west. Meanwhile the Indians have moved up their 2 games this week, by 1 day each because of the approaching snowstorm. Natrona is up #4, and visit RS on Saturday. Laramie is back in at #5, after pulling out that tie at #1 TB last weekend. Kelly Walsh can probably complain about that, seeing how they beat the Plainsmen a few weeks ago. If the Trojans can pull off a road win against RS this weekend, they might win favor from the voters.

There's a new #1 team in 3A boys. Worland is now on top, after former #1, now #2 Star Valley was surprised in the tournament at Green River last weekend. Buffalo impressed the voters to move up to #3 ahead of now #4 Torrington. Lander is back in at #5. The Tigers were the ones that shut out the Braves last weekend. This weekend is busy for Lander, because they host defending champ Cody on Friday, and then visit unranked Rawlins on Saturday. The Outlaws won the first matchup a few weeks ago.

The same 5 teams are still in the new 4A girls rankings. Cheyenne Central is still #1, followed by Thunder Basin and Rock Springs. Laramie is up to #4, while Campbell County drops to #5, as a result of their tie game last weekend at unranked Cheyenne East. Big games this week have the Lady Plainsmen visiting the Lady Indians, as well as the 2 Gillette teams vs. each other. RS visits unranked Kelly Walsh on Friday in a battle for 1st place in the West.

The new 3A Girls rankings were stirred up after last weekend's tournament at Worland. Defending champ Cody is still on top. They host #2 Douglas on Saturday. The Lady Bearcats visit unranked Powell the day before, and the Lady Panthers probably have something to prove, after the voters came down on them, and kicked them out of the top 5, after being #3 last week. Elsewhere, Worland is up to #3, while Star Valley drops to #4, losing to Douglas. Buffalo is starting to right the ship on their season, and back in the rankings at #5 this week.
