The coaches/media rankings were stirred as a result of last weekend's games, and there could be more to come, because some big games have yet to be played, including 2 #1 vs. #2's this weekend.

In only their 2nd year in existence and for the first time, the Thunder Basin Bolts are the unanimous #1 ranked team in 4A. Their first chance to defend that ranking will be a big one, as they travel to play former #1, now #3 Natrona. Meanwhile, Cheyenne East moves up to #2 as a result of beating the Mustangs last week. The Thunderbirds host #5 Laramie, while #4 Sheridan will also be in the capital city to play unranked Cheyenne South.

3A could be a powder-keg waiting to go off...and last week was a small example of what could happen. Torrington sits on top as the new #1 team. Most of the fireworks though involve the next 4 ranked teams which are all from the west. #2 Jackson, #3 Evanston and #4 Star Valley all have yet to play each other. However former #1, now #5 Cody could add fuel to the fire, if they can recover from last week's loss and take down the Red Devils at home this week.

2A maybe settling down this week in the east, but not so in the west. Buffalo is the new #1 ranked team. All eyes are on the west this week as #2 Mountain View visits #5 Pinedale in a first place battle. Glenrock drops to #3 this week, with Wheatland behind them at #4.

The big match in 1A is happening this week. #1 Big Horn at #2 Pine Bluffs. The Hornets have yet to give up a point this season, and beat the Rams twice last year...including the state championship game. BH has to be motivated for this game. There's no change in the rest of the rankings, with Cokeville at #3, Upton-Sundance at #4 and Lusk at #5.

Another top 2 battle will take place Friday afternoon in 6-man. #2 Meeteetse has been on a roll, winning back to back games vs. former #2 teams Little Snake River and Burlington. Only #1 Farson-Eden stands in their way of the west #1 seed for the playoffs. The Pronghorns haven't been tested much so far this season, and the old sports cliche is...it isn't always the best team to look out for, rather it's the hottest. Both teams are about to find out which is which. #3 H.E.M. is only 1 vote behind Meeteetse in the rankings, and have their own big battle this weekend at home vs. Normative Services, who is looking to recover from loss #1 last week. Burlington drops to #4, while Kaycee is back in the rankings at #5. Unranked Little Snake River has an argument seeing how they beat Burlington a few weeks ago, and their only loss is against Meeteetse so far.
