Those conference games can sometimes change a season, and the coaches/media rankings.

Cheyenne Central passed one test to retain the #1 ranking in 4A, and perhaps a bigger one awaits on the road. It's #1 vs. #2 this Friday, as the Indians visit Gillette. The Camels jump up 3 spots in the rankings, after a successful 2 game road trip to start the conference schedule. #5 Cheyenne East will visit Gillette as well. Central and East are also at unranked Sheridan this weekend. Rock Springs drops a spot to #3, and host their rivals from Green River. The Tigers should be aware that the Wolves have improved from the past years, and GR would love nothing more than to make a statement game and say they're back. Cheyenne South drops to #4 after a bumpy weekend on their home court.

Parity rules the 3A rankings. Team A may have won vs. Team B earlier in the season, but due to recent games, Team B is ranked ahead of Team A. Since last week's top 3 all picked up a loss, Worland takes advantage of the situation and jumps all the way up from #5 to #1. Douglas holds steady at #2, and Buffalo drops to #3. Star Valley maintains the #4 spot, and Rawlins is down a couple of spots to #5. The Outlaws play #1 Worland and #3 Buffalo back-to-back on the road this weekend. Unranked Wheatland could have the biggest gripe about the rankings, considering they just beat Rawlins, and have a victory vs. Douglas. Perhaps if they avenge their loss to Newcastle and beat the Bearcats again this weekend, they probably will get back into the rankings.

Parity is trying to show itself in the 2A rankings, but not at the top spot. For the second straight week, Wind River is the unanimous #1. Last week's buzzer beater in Fremont County changed the rankings a little bit. Greybull moves up to #2, while Wyoming Indian only drops 1 spot to #3. Pine Bluffs moves up to #4, and Shoshoni is in at #5. The Wranglers hope to bump off their 2nd #2 team in as many weeks, when Greybull visits on Friday. Big Piney dropped out after a bad start to their conference schedule. Unranked Lyman is looking to make some more noise this week. The Eagles have a great opportunity playing WIHS and WR back-to-back at home.

There's no change in the latest 1A rankings. It's still Upton, Burlington, Encampment, Kaycee and Meeteetse in that order. The latter 2 had their chance last week to move up, but couldn't get it done. There's not much excitement on this week's schedule.
