Games are becoming bigger in the coaches/media rankings, now that there's a pretty good idea on which teams are contenders, but it's not too late for another team to try to prove themselves.

Thanks to last weekend's snowstorm, #1 Cheyenne Central had the week off, and the Indians retain the top spot in 4A boys. They'll have their hands full in the last 2 weeks of the regular season, playing every conference opponent, starting with #3 Campbell County. The Camels are one vote behind #2 Laramie who has the weekend off. The Plainsmen moved ahead of CCHS with their road win last week, but the reason for the close vote, was because Laramie followed up that big win, with a big loss at unranked Sheridan. #4 Rock Springs had to settle for a tie last weekend with new #5 Green River. The rematch is next Tuesday at GR and that could decide the #1 seed in the west.

The latest 3A boys rankings have the same 5 teams, just in a slightly different order. Lander retains the #1 spot. Riverton moves up to #2 and has a big road game on Saturday at #5 Cody. The 2 teams played to a scoreless draw the last time a few weeks ago. Torrington drops one spot to #3, while Worland is up one spot to #4 heading into the weekend.

There's been a shuffle on top of the new 4A Girls rankings. Campbell County takes over the #1 spot after their hard fought 1-0 OT win at #2 Laramie next week. The Lady Camels host #3 Cheyenne East on Thursday, and the Lady Thunderbirds need to regroup after falling back on Monday vs. #4 Cheyenne Central, who share that ranking with Kelly Walsh. The Lady Indians also have to visit CCHS this weekend.

There's only 1 undefeated team left in the state and they are the unanimous #1 in 3A Girls. That would be the Cody Fillies, who secured their trip to the state tournament last week. The match of interest is on Friday when #2 Star Valley visits #3 Worland. Meanwhile, Buffalo and Douglas retain their respective #4 and #5 rankings.
