The teams will decide which one really is #1 in the post-season, because the coaches and media rankings are only for the regular season.

Normally we release the boys and girls rankings separately, but since the regular season is over, we decided to release them at the same time.

In 4A boys, the game of musical chairs has ended, and thankfully, the rankings don't decide champions, because there would be 2 of them if that were true. Cheyenne East and Sheridan tie for the top spot and have the top 2 rankings at the upcoming East regional tournament in Laramie. Evanston is the lone west team ranked at #3, and have the top seed in the west going into the other regional tournament at Jackson. Cheyenne Central maintains the #4 spot, and Campbell County is back in, after a 1 week hiatus from the top 5, thanks to pulling off a head-to-head sweep vs. the Broncs last week.

3A boys appear to be more balanced than 4A, but the teams have had their moments bouncing up and down the top 5 as well. Buffalo and Rawlins carry the top 2 seeds into the East Regional Tournament at Douglas. Despite their loss 2 weeks ago, Riverton moves back ahead of Cody for #3, bumping the Broncs to #4. We're guessing the tie-breaker for seeding is what made the difference in the voting. Lander finishes the regular season ranked #5.

In 4A girls, it's the same 5 teams for the 7th straight week, and in the same order as last week. Campbell County has a strong grip on the #1 ranking. The Lady Camels are undefeated vs. Wyoming opponents, and have run over every team in their way. #2 Thunder Basin is the only team that's come close...that is if you consider 23 points to be close. #3 Kelly Walsh went undefeated in the west and have the #1 seed in their regional tournament. Defending champ Cheyenne East is ranked #4 and has to play that extra game at the East Regional Tournament, to get back into the state tournament. #5 Evanston is already Casper bound next weekend.

3A girls did not change from last week. Undefeated Douglas is the unanimous #1, and host the East Regional Tournament this weekend. #4 Buffalo gave them a scare last week and took the Lady Bearcats into OT, but couldn't finish the job in the extra 4 minutes. In the west, #2 Lyman, #3 Mountain View and #5 Powell will be part of the west regional tournament at Pinedale.

Disclaimer: The rankings have no official say on post-season positioning, and are only to be used as a measuring stick on the regular season. Please don't read too much into the rankings.
