Wyoming isn't to well known for its lakes and aquatic recreation, at least not around Laramie, but the Wyoming Game and Fish Department Will be holding training sessions across the state for anyone interested in learning more about invasive species and becoming certified in watercraft inspections.

Summer time is the best time to enjoy Wyoming's wonderful outdoors but the WGFD wants the public to be aware of aquatic invasive species. Wyoming of course is a land locked state and many of Wyoming's major recreational lakes are spread through out the state. Traveling to different lakes is fun and enjoyable but what many people don't know is that boat contamination can occur as well as transportation of aquatic invasive species such as Zebra and Quagga mussels.

In regards to Laramie and the surrounding area The WGFD will be holding work sessions in Cheyenne May 24-25th and Casper June 21-22nd.  For a list of other locations visit the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.

Training includes classroom instruction, question and answer session and a hands on water craft inspection exercise. Sessions run for two days. The first day sessions begin at 9am and will go till 5pm. The second days will begin at 8am and end at 1pm. There is no fee for training but registration is required.

To send in registration email Sherril Rahe at SherrilRahe@wgf.state.wy.us. Please provide in the registration your name, address, phone number and agency or business association.
