YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Mont. (AP) — Winter travel into Yellowstone National Park is opening thanks to recent snow storms.

Visitors will be able to travel the park's interior roads from the North, West and South entrances on commercially guided snowmobiles and snowcoaches starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday. Travel through the park's East Entrance over Sylvan Pass is scheduled to begin Dec. 22.

Visitors with appropriate permits can also participate in the Noncommercially Guided Snowmobile Access Program.

The Geyser Grill, Bear Den Gift Shop and the Old Faithful Visitor Education Center also will open for the season Tuesday.

Park officials say staff members will continue to monitor road conditions and weather forecasts that can have an impact on roadways and guided over-snow travel operations.
