The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for southeast Wyoming for Monday.

The service posted this statement on its website on Sunday, Jan. 20th:

"Good morning. A Winter Storm Watch is now in effect for most of southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska beginning Monday morning for areas west of Interstate 25, and beginning Monday evening for locations along and east of Interstate 25. Blowing snow and very low visibility may become an issue for areas along and east of Interstate 25 with north winds gusting over 40 mph at times Monday evening through early Tuesday morning. Snow is expected to end by Tuesday afternoon. Travel may become difficult or dangerous across portions of the area Monday through early Tuesday. Please monitor the latest forecasts if you plan on traveling through the area."
