WINhealth says healthcare shoppers have until Monday, Dec. 15 to purchase a health plan in order for their insurance coverage to begin on Jan. 1, 2015.

Shoppers can still buy a health plan after Dec. 15, but their coverage will not go into effect until February 2015 or later.

The current Open Enrollment period began Nov. 15, 2014 and continues through Feb. 15, 2015. Shoppers who do not purchase a health plan before Feb. 15 will not be able to receive health insurance coverage in 2015, unless their situation warrants a qualifying life event.

It is important that shoppers be aware of the deadline and do not put off buying their plan,” said Stephen K. Goldstone, WINhealth president and CEO. “There are really only a few days left for those who want their coverage in place for the start of next year.

WINhealth is a Wyoming-based carrier offering a variety of competitively-priced healthcare plans for individuals and groups, both on and off the federal Marketplace. Goldstone said in the past year WINhealth has greatly expanded its provider network into Colorado, Utah, Montana, and Nebraska, giving its members greater access to high quality healthcare.
