The 2018 high school soccer season has been a bit of a mixed bag for the Laramie Lady Plainsmen, who are halfway through the year.

Laramie is 3-3-1 on the season and 2-3-1 in conference play.

Things started fairly well with three victories in the first four matches and all were shutouts. Since, the LHS ladies have lost two and tied another. Injuries and youth have both played a role up to this point, but now the Lady Plainsmen are trying to put together a second half surge.

Head coach Kim Whisenant visited with KOWB’s David Settle about the season to this point, and how she’s approaching the second half.

Laramie heads on the road for two matches Friday and Saturday. They play the Broncs in Sheridan Friday night and will face the No. 4 Camels in Gillette Saturday. The Lady Plainsmen shutout Sheridan, 7-0, in the first meeting, but lost to Gillette, 4-1. Their next home match is April 26 versus Cheyenne South.

It was announced Thursday that Laramie’s home match next Monday, April 23 against Natrona County, which has been postponed twice, has now been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
