Online shopping behemoth Amazon has recently announced its plans to open a second headquarters in North America. The company is expected to invest upwards of $5 billion in the new location, including the hiring of 50,000 new employees. While several large cities are already vying for the new headquarters, bringing the business to Wyoming could be beneficial for both the state of Wyoming and for Amazon.

According to the 2010 US Census, Cheyenne, Casper, and Laramie are Wyoming's three largest cities. Each city has its own benefits to offer Amazon in the event that the company chooses one of those locations for their new headquarters.

    Casper

With a population of just over 50,000 people, Casper could provide the manpower required to run the facility. The city also provides zero percent corporate income tax and zero percent goods in transit tax according to this website, which makes it an ideal place for an online shipping corporation to set up shop.

    Cheyenne

Next on the list is Cheyenne. Located on the I-80 and I-25 corridors, Wyoming's capital might also make a good place for Amazon to set up a distribution center. Cheyenne is also home to the third most reliable power grid in the country, which makes it a good location for keeping a large online corporation running smoothly.

    Laramie

Also located on I-80, Laramie could help provide efficient transportation for Amazon goods. Amazon would also have a great hiring pool in choosing from the recent grads of the University of Wyoming. And as of 2014, Laramie had upwards of 70 tech companies that called the Gem City home, which would qualify it as "location with the potential to attract and retain strong technical talent" that Amazon is looking for, according to a statement on its website.
