Intrinsically connected with summertime, Memorial Day and Independence Day are holidays away from work, to enjoy parades, fireworks and barbecues. Additionally, they are both holidays richly rooted in American culture, days to practice patriotic pride and wave the American flag.

We all know the origins of Independence Day, the 4th of July, when the Declaration of Independence was signed, commonly regarded as the birthday of America.

Memorial Day was originated after the Civil War to honor the fallen Union and Confederate soldiers. Today, it is a federal holiday, commemorating all fallen men and women of America’s Armed Forces.
