GREEN RIVER, Wyo. (AP) — Most public lands in Western Wyoming will be closed to the gathering of shed horns and antlers from January first through April 2013.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is reminding the public of the ban on collecting sheds on the lands west of the Continental Divide. The annual restriction has been in effect since 2009.

The regulation is aimed at reducing the disturbance of big game animals on their winter and spring ranges when they're most vulnerable. Colorado and Utah have similar regulations.
