University of Wyoming men’s basketball coach Larry Shyatt announced on Tuesday that senior forward Leonard Washington has been fully reinstated to the Cowboy program. Washington was suspended indefinitely in April for not meeting “expectations and standards of the program.”

Head Coach Larry Shyatt said, “Leonard has met our criteria for earning his way back onto this team and has done everything Athletics Director Tom Burman and I have asked of him, We are pleased that he will have the opportunity to earn his degree this spring and look forward to him continuing to help this team.”

A Second-Team All-Mountain West selection, Washington averaged 12.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks in 32 starts for the Cowboys last season. He ranked in the top 10 of six MW statistical categories, including leading the conference in blocks (1.0) and field goal percentage (56.0). He scored in double figures in 22 games and notched six double-doubles.
