The Washington Park playground will continue to be closed through Tuesday, March 10 for large tree pruning. The park has been closed this week, and the city has extended the closure to complete work in the area.

City of Laramie officials say the closure is in place to provide for public safety, and the Parks and Recreation Department apologizes in advance for any inconvenience.

Large tree maintenance equipment will be used to prune trees near the playground area. The work area will be clearly marked for public exclusion.  Noise and saw dust may be encountered outside of the work area.

The city asks that people keep children and pets away from the area to ensure their safety. Walkers, joggers, and cyclists are asked to give a wide clearance of the area as well.
