Dave Micus, a longtime university registrar's office professional has been named the University of Wyoming's next registrar.

According to the University, the decision was a slam dunk as Micus was a former registrar at the University of Montana and current registrar at King Abdullah University of Science of Technology in Saudi Arabia. The University's release goes onto say Micus will begin his position at UW on July 1st.

“I’m delighted that Dave has agreed to join our very capable and progressive office supporting academic records and registration at UW,” says UW Vice President for Student Affairs Sara Axelson.

According to the University, Micus has been in this field for 26 years with 18 of those years serving either as an associate registrar or registrar. The release says Micus also worked at Boston University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

"I am very excited to have been chosen to be the registrar at the University of Wyoming,” Micus says. “It has been my goal to secure a position at an exceptional state flagship institution, and the University of Wyoming more than fits that criteria. As registrar, I plan to continue the practice already in place of providing excellent service to the university community."

The University says Micus received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Stockton State College in 1979 and his master's in journalism from Southern Illinois University in 1981. The release went on to say that Micus earned a certificate of advanced graduate study in educational administration from Boston University in 2004.
