The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees will be accepting public comment during their meeting next Wednesday, Feb. 14, as well as discussing a number of other issues.

The trustees will be taking public comment on potential four percent tuition hike for in-state students. The increase would raise in-state undergraduate tuition from $3,870 annually to $4,023 annually and increase tuition for in-state graduate students from $4,518 to $4,698 annually.

The proposal is in line with the board’s current four-year tuition policy, adopted in 2015.

At the same time, the trustees are also considering reducing out-of-state tuition from $15,480 to $9,500, in an effort to increase enrollment. The recommendations were made to the trustees by Huron Consulting Group during their meeting last month.

Also up for discussion by the trustees is consideration of a proposed project as part of the Trustees Education Initiative, a report of UW financial services reorganization and a legislative update.

The meeting will take place from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Old Main boardroom on the UW campus. The trustees will begin accepting public comment at 8:30 a.m. People wishing to address the board should email uwpres@uwyo.edu by noon on Monday, Feb. 12 with their name and phone number.

The trustees is also accepting public comment online at www.uwyo.edu/trustees/public-comment/. The deadline for those comments is Feb. 12.
