The University of Wyoming Bangladesh Students Association is inviting the Laramie community to learn about Bangladesh culture at their annual “Bangladesh Night” this Saturday, March 10.

Rajib Roy, UW student and Bangladesh Students Association member said the goal of the event is to showcase Bangladesh culture by introducing Bangladesh music, dance, cuisine and fashion to the Laramie community.

“We are really trying to engage the Laramie community,” Roy said.

The cultural show, to be held in the UW Arts and Sciences Auditorium from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., will feature music pieces, including a piano piece, a mime show, as well as other song and dance medleys. Roy said the event is free and open to the public and those in attendance will receive a free souvenir. Roy said it is an opportunity for Laramie residents to see what music and dance is like in another country.

Roy said the cultural show will be followed by a ticketed dinner from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Yellowstone Room in the Wyoming Union featuring Bangladesh cuisine.  The dinner will be a traditional 14 course Bangladeshi dinner. Roy said that while admittance is by donation, the recommended donation is $20. Roy said children under 10 years old will be admitted for free and vegetarian and Halal options are available.
