Laramie residents turned out today to celebrate the summer solstice at the University of Wyoming Art Museum's annual solstice celebration.

Visitors got to watch as a beam of light shone through a solar tube in the ceiling and slowly traveled closer to a 1923 Peace dollar set into the center of the gallery's floor. The event only happens at noon on the summer solstice.

Special telescopes were set up on the terrace and visitors could take a look at the surface of the sun.
