Uranium Mine Opens At Lost Creek
A Colorado based energy company has announced uranium is being mined at a new facility in southwestern Wyoming.
The new Lost Creek mine is up and running after it received final approval from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Friday.
Ur-Energy Inc. out of Littleton, Colorado is operating the mine. Ur-Energy is employing 60 people currently and has plans to add 40 more to it’s staff.
Wyoming is the nation’s leader in uranium, producing around 1.6 million pounds per year.
