A winner will emerge from just three teams at the 2014 Wyoming 13U Jr. Babe Ruth State Tournament in Sheridan over the next two days.

Laramie, along with Douglas and the host team, Sheridan, will play each other in three round robin games Friday. After that, the third seed is eliminated. Then, the top two will square off in a one-game, winner-take-all, State Championship on Saturday.

Laramie 13U Junior Babe All-Star coach Rob Schutterle says, “This is a tough format. I haven’t seen a tournament laid out like this for several years. So, it’s a little more pressure. You can play two great games on Friday, come flat on Saturday and get sent home.”

It’s why Schutterle and his coaching staff have emphasized the importance of each game and playing to the best of their ability.

Schutterle said they’ll try to really put it to Douglas and Sheridan on Friday.

“Then, whoever we play on Saturday, really bring it, and try to bring the state championship home.”

They’d love some payback against Sheridan, as well.

“The boys know Sheridan gave us a blow last year and were part of the reason we didn’t make it to state (in Little League). So they’ve got that on the back of their minds. They’re really anxious to get up there and redeem themselves.”

The winner will move on to the regional tournament in Helena, MT.

Laramie’s 13U Jr. Babe All-Star Roster includes Baden Jordan, Trevor Martin, Michael Schutterle, Ramon Gomez, Judson Church, Chord Worden, Brady Epler, James Wilson (out with injury), Jaykob Ahrenholtz, Ethan Sell, Caleb Eaton and Alex Flores.
