Twin Peaks Fire Nearly Contained While Crews Fight A Second Johnson County Fire

Fire crews battling a wildland fire in the eastern Big Horn Mountain foothills, say they should have full control of the situation soon and have already contained a second blaze.

As of Tuesday morning, October 27th, the Twin Peaks fire, located between the city of Buffalo and the Sheridan County-Johnson County border, was 90% contained.

Johnson County Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly says 100% containment is expected by Tuesday evening.

It has been determined that the fire was human caused, but it is unknown if it was accidental, caused through negligence, or if it was intentional.

More than 40 acres have been burned.

Meanwhile, another fire was discovered on Monday, between Buffalo and Kaycee, and it has been fully contained.

More than 300 acres of private land was affected, and investigators say they believe it may have been sparked by lightning.
