UNDATED (AP) — It was quite a memorable final day of the Major League season and featured the crowning of two division champs, the outcome of a wild-card race, a no-hitter and the retirement of an iconic shortstop.

The Detroit Tigers wrapped up the AL Central title with a 3-0 shutout of Minnesota. Ian Kinsler went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBIs to back David Price, who gave up four hits in 7 1/3 to a Twins team that scored 23 runs the previous two days.

The Tigers' win puts the Royals in the wild-card game against Oakland.

The Athletics took the second wild-card berth with a 4-0 win at Texas as Sonny Gray went the distance on a six-hitter for his second career shutout. Josh Reddick hit an RBI triple in the second, but the game remained close until Jed Lowrie's two-run single in the ninth.

St. Louis clinched the NL Central crown when Pittsburgh was beaten 4-1 by Cincinnati. Reds ace Johnny Cueto (KWAY'-toh) picked up his 20th victory and snapped a 1-1 tie with an RBI single in the eighth. Kristopher Negron added a two-run homer to support Cueto, who gave up a run and six hits in eight innings.

The Pirates settle for a berth in the NL wild-card game against San Francisco.

The no-hitter came courtesy of the National League's top team as Jordan Zimmermann tossed the first one in Washington Nationals history. Zimmermann allowed only two baserunners and finished with 10 strikeouts, but the no-hitter hung in the balance until defensive replacement Steven Souza Jr. made a diving catch in left field for the final out.

And then there was the final game of Derek Jeter's career. He ended his 20-year run in the same way he completed his final at-bat in Yankee Stadium, with an RBI single.

Jeter went 1-for-2 with a run-scoring hit in the third inning before coming out for a pinch-hitter. He received a standing ovation from Red Sox fans at Fenway Park as he left the field. Jeter also embraced Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz before receiving hugs from his teammates on the warning track near the Yankee dugout.

The RBI hit was part of the Yankees' 9-5 win at Boston.

Jeter was congratulated by former captains of local pro teams in a classy pregame ceremony orchestrated by the Red Sox. Carl Yastrzemski and Jason Varitek of the Red Sox, Bobby Orr of the Bruins, Troy Brown of the New England Patriots and Paul Pierce of the Celtics came out of the Boston dugout and headed toward the grass just behind the dirt at shortstop.
