The University of Wyoming is offering three scholarships for American Indian students.   The Scholarships, listed as The  Frank and Cynthia McCarthy Scholarship, The  Robert W. Winner Memorial Scholarship, and The John Ada Thorpe Scholarship, provide funding for American Indian students  who desire a degree from the University of Wyoming.  They are available during the 2014/2015 academic year to current UW students and community college  students who plan to transfer to the University. Successful applicants must be full-time and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.  Anitra Parks, chairman of the American Indian Studies Scholarship Committee, explains the desired qualities of each applicant:

Parks urges applicants to request letters of recommendations from instructors who have an intimate knowledge of their academic careers. The application deadline for all three scholarships  is Feb. 14, 2014.
