The Cabinet will be made up of 10-to-12 members representing diverse geographic regions, grades, and subjects. Members of the Cabinet will be asked to commit to an 18-month term beginning January 2014

On the Agenda District Assessment Systems, the strategic direction of the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE), and proposed standards in Science and three other content areas.

The pilot ratings will act as a test of the new system for rating school performance, which was developed by the WDE.

It looks like the Wyoming Proficiency Assessments for Wyoming Students (PAWS) test is going to be around for awhile.

Of the 351 individual schools in Wyoming, 171 met AYP, which was 48.7 percent of Wyoming Schools. Last year 205 out of 354 schools made AYP (57.9 percent). Nearly 73 percent of districts met AYP as well.

The Wyoming Schools have been named as Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education.
