The U.S. Forest Service and the Wyoming Department of Transportation are advising travelers of Wyoming Highway 130 to be aware of work that is going on between Laramie and Saratoga.

A 24-hour Mexican restaurant with a drive-up window is now open in Laramie. Almanza’s Mexican Food recently opened at 2615 E. Grand Avenue.

A three day art show beginning August 10th here in Laramie will highlight 11 local artists and their work. The show will feature artists with a variety of interests and mediums. Art including pen and ink drawings, oil paintings, photography, mixed media and pastels will all be featured at the event.

The Laramie Rangers bats came to life and combined with a good pitching performance from Abel Casas, it added up to an 11-1 victory over the Cody Cubs Thursday at the 2012 Wyoming American Legion Baseball State Tournament in Casper. Laramie pounded out 21 hits en route to the 10-run victory in only 8 innings of play.

Wyoming had two athletes at the Olympics in Britain. Despite valliant efforts on both their parts, neither one medaled in their respective events.

A slow start and lack of offense plagued the Laramie Rangers, as they lost their first round game 7-2 to the Sheridan Troopers on Wednesday at the 2012 Wyoming American Legion Baseball State Tournament in Casper. Laramie fell behind 4-0 and could never fully recover.

Curt Gowdy, a former owner of KOWB-AM, was born on this day in 1919. Gowdy is best known as the longtime "voice" of the Boston Red Sox, but he was born in Green River, Wyoming and played basketball and tennis at the University of Wyoming.
