The Wyoming Business Council Board of Directors is recommending the City of Laramie receive a $5.4 million grant to create the Cirrus Sky Technology Park. The Board met in Laramie on Thursday after touring Laramie and the 149 acre site on Wednesday.

Behind a season high 18 points from Ashley Sickles, the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team (6-1 overall) pulled out the 58-56 victory over the Montana Lady Griz (5-3 overall), on Thursday night, in Missoula.

University of Wyoming senior free safety Luke Ruff received one of the highest academic honors a college student-athlete can achieve by being named on Thursday to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America Division I Football First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). It is the first time in Ruff’s career that he has earned First Team Academic All-America honors. He is the first Wyoming Cowboy to earn the honor since Trenton Franz in 2004.

Looks like the Daddy of 'em All has lived up to its name for another year. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association named Cheyenne Frontier Days the Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year at their 2012 Awards Banquet. It is the 14th time CFD has earned the honor.

As Wyoming Governor Matt Mead puts together an energy plan for 2013, he is looking for public feedback to help "prioritize, refine, narrow, and spot lost opportunities." Mead is hoping the public will participate in a series of public meetings via the internet or in person over the next two days.

After leaving her mark on Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball and the Mountain West Conference, senior outside hitter Jodi Purdy continues to earn honors after it was announced Tuesday she was selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-West Region postseason team. The selection is her second in as many seasons and second of her career.

Down by as much as 19 points early in the second half, the University of Wyoming men’s basketball team closed the game with a 36-7 run to earn a statement 81-67 win over Illinois State on Tuesday night in Redbird Arena. Sophomore Larry Nance, Jr. paced five Cowboys in double figures with a career-high 19 points, as UW ran their record to a perfect 9-0 on the season.

Senior Center Nick Carlson and Senior Defensive Tackle Mike Purcell earned First-Team All-Conference recognition Tuesday, as the Mountain West announced its all-conference teams and individual awards for the 2012 season. A total of seven Wyoming Cowboys earned accolades for their performance on the gridiron this past season.
