The competition is one of several efforts to promote shooting sports in Wyoming.

The plan, totaling some $3.5 billion, will involve significant upgrades to existing wind plants, construction of a 140 miles of transmission line in Wyoming and adding up to 1,100 megawatts of new wind projects -- primarily in Wyoming -- by the end of 2020.

Lawmakers cut $34.5 million from school funding during the 2017 session.

Governor Mead invited the president to involve Wyoming in developing strategies for energy production.

The governor said he supports the goal of the bill but is concerned about "unintended results."

The Governor will now decide whether to sign a bill that would double the fee for getting a driver's license in Wyoming.
