Wyoming sophomore wide receiver Jalen Claiborne’s leaping, game-winning catch vs. Idaho on September 22 is a finalist for the GEICO Play of the Year, Intersport announced today. For eight weeks, fans voted for the GEICO Play of the Year and the eight winners will be shown on GEICO Best of College Football 2012 on CBS Nov. 23 at 1:30 p.m. ET.
November 3, 2012 Brett Smith threw for 235 yards and 4 touchdowns, ran for another, and the Wyoming Cowboys won the 104th edition of the Border War over rival Colorado State 45-31 Saturday at War Memorial Stadium. The victory marked the fourth consecutive win in the series for the Pokes for the first time since 1970-1973.

October 27, 2012 The Wyoming Cowboys remain winless on their home field after losing to #21 Boise State 45-14 on Saturday under Interim Head Coach Pete Kaligis. After the game was tied at 7-7 early in the second quarter, the Broncos took control and scored 31 straight points for their seventh straight victory.
In two weeks, War Memorial Stadium will host the five Wyoming High School Football State Championship games for a fourth consecutive year. Ten teams from around Wyoming will converge on the Gem City to see if they can earn bragging rights for their school and if all that hard work culminates in a title.
October 22, 2012 The first year of the Ted Holmstrom era ended like it started. Turnovers at key times plagued the Laramie Plainsmen, as their season came to a close last Friday night at Deti Stadium with a 29-18 loss to the Evanston Red Devils. Laramie finished the year at 1-8 and failed to make the playoffs for the 8th time in the last 11 seasons.
