The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning of near-blizzard conditions for parts of eastern Wyoming and the Nebraska panhandle. The weather service has issued the following statement:

"Multiple weather concerns over the next 24 to 48 hours. Strong winds are expected once again today across far southeastern Wyoming into the southern Nebraska Panhandle, including the cities of Cheyenne, Pine Bluffs and Sidney. Expect dangerous travel for lightweight and high profile vehicles these areas. Snow will spread across the area this morning, and continue through the day. The heaviest snow is generally expected over east central Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle. In addition to the snow, windy conditions across the area could result in dangerous winter conditions with very low visibilities in blowing snow and icy roads. Near-blizzard conditions are possible roughly along and northeast of a line from Lusk to Sidney. Those with travel plans across eastern Wyoming and the western Nebraska Panhandle should be alert for the potential for difficult or impossible travel conditions through tonight."
