Stoplight Timers-Ask the City

Question:

Is there a reason why some stoplights in town, such as the one at 3rd and Ivinson, have a longer delay when transitioning from red to green?

Answer:

"As maintained by the Wyoming Department of Transportation, the signal has a 3 second advanced crosswalk. When the signal turns red on 3rd, the crosswalk lights up for 3 seconds before the signal turns green, giving pedestrians a chance to cross easier. There are several signals that are set up this way."
