As sewer work continues, Skyline Road will be closed to westbound through traffic on Wednesday, Oct. 28.

Simon Contractors will tie in a manhole in the middle of the street, and this process will involve quite a bit of digging around that manhole.  Allowing the flow of westbound traffic to continue would create an unsafe situation, according to Project Manager Joey Oyen.

Access to area business and residences will be provided during the construction work.  It is advised that all other traffic utilize Spring Creek Drive/Russell Street and 15th Street as a detour.

The City of Laramie says that the roadway will reopen on Thursday, Oct. 29.

Oyen says that the original plan had been to completely close Skyline Road for the duration of the project.  However, as a public service, the road has been kept almost entirely open.  This has inhibited production and slowed the company’s work.
