The Colorado Rockies (9-9) won the first game of yesterday’s double-header against the Pittsburgh Pirates (8-10) at PNC Park 2-1, but the dropped Game 2 to the Pirates 5-1, giving Pittsburgh the series win. After a travel date today, the Rockies return home to host the New York Mets (10-8) tomorrow night at 6:10 at Coors Field (TV: Root Sports).

The Rockies had won the previous three series. But a team that tends to struggle on the road finished a trip to Milwaukee and Pittsburgh, places where the Rockies struggled in the past, 3-3. Next is a nine-game homestand that starts tomorrow night against the Mets.

Official: Game 1 and Game 2 Box Scores.

“We need to play good baseball, and the first game back we need to set the tone, so I’m looking forward to that first game,” first baseman Todd Helton said.

Rockies first baseman Todd Helton is one double away from tying Jeff Kent and Eddie Murray for 22nd on MLB’s all-time doubles list with 560 two-base hits.
