Today the Wyoming Department of Transportation will begin total reconstruction work on Grand Avenue.

The construction will take place between 15th and 21st Street. The estimated time of completion for the construction is the end of August,  just before the University of Wyoming fall semester begins.

WYDOT Resident Engineer Steve Cook explains the rationale behind selecting the  March 3 start date: Steve Cook Clip on Grand Ave Construction

The construction will consist of removing and rebuilding all the sidewalks, gutters and roads from 15th to 21st Street. The process will also insure that all corners and accesses are up to American Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. In addition, a pedestrian crossing will be added at 19th Street.

During construction, all traffic will be re-routed south to Sheridan St. for the duration of the project. A temporary traffic signal will be added to the 21st and Sheridan St. intersection.
