RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality says preliminary results from an air monitoring station in an area several miles east of Pavillion did not reveal pollution levels exceeding federal standards.

The state agency installed a mobile monitoring station that began collecting data Jan. 27, 2011, on land in the Pavillion area downwind of gas development equipment and infrastructure.

The Riverton Ranger reports (http://bit.ly/HpjzW6 ) that a DEQ officials reports that the preliminary review of air quality data through Dec. 31 does not show any violations of national air quality standards.

DEQ installed the air monitoring equipment after local citizens in the Pavillion area expressed concerns about air pollution caused by energy production activity.
