The City of Laramie will begin mosquito fogging in residential areas beginning in the evening on Monday, June 4.

The city said surveillance indicates that thresholds have been reached to begin the fogging. Weather permitting, the applications will take place between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Currently, no cases of West Nile virus have been confirmed in Albany County and the risk of infection is rated at level 1, or low risk. That rating is based on low numbers of vector mosquitoes and no reported WNv activity in birds or mosquitoes.

The application will be in residential areas, parks, recreation areas and the Laramie River Greenbelt Trail. Certain meteorological conditions must be in place, for example wind speeds must be above 1 mph and below 10 mph and it must be between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
