Colorado State scored on their first four possessions, and the Rams went on to beat the Wyoming Cowboys 26-7 in the Border War Saturday in Laramie.

CSU (4-5, 2-3) won their third straight in the series and kept the Bronze Boot for another year.

Izzy Matthews scored on TD runs of two yards and nine yards sandwiched around a Wyatt Bryan 33-yard field goal in the first quarter. Nick Stevens added a 1-yard scoring plunge midway through the second for a 23-0 lead. A 31-yard field goal by Bryan late in the third quarter capped the Rams scoring.

Wyoming (1-9, 1-5) managed a Brian Hill four-yard touchdown run late in the fourth for their only points.

Dalyn Dawkins ran for 140 yards for Colorado State, while Stevens threw for 120 with an interception. The Rams finished with 348 yards of offense and held the ball for over 37 minutes in the game.

Their defense was more of the story. CSU held the Cowboys to 239 yards on the day and forced four Wyoming turnovers.

Hill was held to 65 yards on the ground, while Nick Smith threw for 109 with a pick and was sacked three times.

The Cowboys return to action Saturday night at San Diego State. Kick-off will be at 8:30 p.m., Mountain Time.
