Two key runs in the second half propelled the Colorado State Rams to an 82-67 victory over the Wyoming Cowboys in the men's basketball Border War Saturday night in Fort Collins.

The game was tied, 31-31, at halftime. Colorado State went on a 9-2 run to open the second half for a 40-33 lead. A couple of minutes later the Rams got back-to-back 3-pointers from Joe De Ciman. That ignited a 15-2 run, where CSU broke the game wide open and led 59-41 with nine minutes remaining. The Pokes were unable to rally after that.

Four Rams scored in double figures. They were led by Jon Octeus with 23 points. Daniel Bejarano scored 20 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and finished with nine assists. De Ciman added 12 points and J.J. Avila chipped in 11.

Colorado State (15-13, 6-9) shot 51 percent from the field. They knocked down 7-15 from beyond the arc for 47 percent. CSU also out-rebounded the Cowboys 37-21. The Rams had only five turnovers in the game.

Wyoming (17-10, 8-6) was led by Nathan Sobey with 15 points. Josh Adams added 11. The Cowboys three-game winning streak was snapped.

UW will return to action on Tuesday, February 24, when they host the Air Force Falcons in Laramie. Tip-off is schedule for 7 p.m.
