MOOSE, Wyo. (AP) — A rafting accident has killed a Jackson woman on the Snake River in Grand Teton National Park.

Park officials say 63-year-old Donna Viehman was in a raft with five other people when the raft hit an obstruction and overturned Sunday evening.

Park officials say all six people fell into the water north of Moose Landing. Five of the boaters made it to a gravel bar in the middle of the river.

Viehman was washed downstream and eventually pulled from the river by bystanders. Attempts to revive her were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another raft came to the aid of the other five boaters and carried them to safety.

Park officials say they're investigating the accident. They say all six boaters were wearing floatation devices.
