The largest lottery jackpot in world history will be up for grabs Wednesday night.

Powerball hit a whopping $1.4 billion on Monday after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Saturday night.

WyoLotto CEO Jon Clontz says ticket sales in the Cowboy State have been soaring.

"We normally take in anywhere between $270,000 and $400,000 in total sales every week for all three games and last week we did just over $3 million," said Clontz. "And this week, from Sunday through noon today, we're already at $700,000 in sales."

The odds of winning Wednesday's jackpot are one in 292.2 million, but Clontz says your astronomical odds do slightly improve if you let the computer pick your numbers.

"The most winners win on quick picks," said Clontz. "So, I would play a quick pick."

And the chances of a Wyomingite hitting the mother lode?

"I think the odds are pretty tough," said Clontz. "They say that the odds are the same for every individual who purchases a ticket no matter what, but everyone knows it usually gets hit in the higher populated states."

Clontz's advice? Play in hopes of winning a lower tier prize.

"One of the things the matrix change did was make the lower tier prizes much easier to win and that helps us in a place where the population is low," said Clontz. "I would tell people to play in hopes of winning $50,000 or $1 million."
