Police Looking for Info in Dog Bite Case
Laramie Police are looking for a dog that allegedly bit a young girl last week in Laramie.
According to a Laramie Police Department press release, a young girl was allegedly bitten on July 3rd, while the girl was riding her bike. The bite is said to have happened in the area of Colorado and Franklin in West Laramie.
The dog was described as being a large brown lab or lab-mix with a fluorescent orange nylon collar. Police say that it is unknown if the dog’s owner was present at the time of the biting.
Officials are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of the dog or the dog’s owner to call Animal Control at (307)-721-5385 or Laramie’s non-emergency dispatch line at (307)-721-2526.
A spokesperson for the Animal Control Unit wants to remind people that animal bites could involve exposure to rabies and that all animal bites must be reported to the Animal Control Unit immediately. Should you or a loved one be bitten, it’s important to be able to identify the specific animal and get the owner’s contact information, if possible, while they are still present. A picture with a cellphone can also be helpful.
