It was a tough go for the Laramie High School soccer teams. They combined to go 1-3 this weekend against Gillette and Sheridan.

Laramie Lady Plainsmen

The fourth-ranked Laramie Lady Plainsmen (6-3-1, 3-3-1) split their two matches at home.

Last Friday they beat #2 Gillette 1-0 on a goal from freshman Lexi Pulley. She tallied on a breakaway in the third minute and was assisted by senior Savannah Cox.

Saturday was a different story, as top-ranked Sheridan came in and beat LHS 2-nil. Robbi Ryan and Jami Shassetz's scored in the second half for the Broncs.

Lady Plainsmen head coach Kim Whisenant said to get the split on the weekend, "We did some good things yesterday (Friday). It's one of those things with this team, I think they think it's just going to come naturally cause we played good, without putting forth the effort, which is not the case; and we saw that today (Saturday)."

Whisenant added they need to regroup and dig in as a squad.

"Someone's gotta find a way to pull this team together, and it can't be me all the time."
