Phoenix Rips Denver – NBA Roundup For Jan. 20th
UNDATED (AP) — The San Antonio Spurs have regained sole possession of first place in the NBA's Western Conference while staying one game ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Patty Mills had 20 points and Marco Belinelli added 14 as the Spurs pounded Milwaukee 110-82. Tim Duncan chipped in 11 points and 13 rebounds in limited action to help the Spurs bounce back from Friday's home loss to Portland.
San Antonio was without starters Tony Parker and Tiago Splitter, former starter Danny Green and 3-point specialist Matt Bonner.
The Thunder earned their third straight win as Kevin Durant followed his career-high 54-point performance by scoring 30 in a 108-93 win against Sacramento. Durant shot 10 of 15 from the field and had nine assists while scoring at least 30 points for the seventh straight game.
Serge Ibaka (ih-BAH'-kah) added 20 points and Reggie Jackson had 16 for the Thunder.
Elsewhere in the NBA:
— Channing Frye scored a season-high 30 points and Markieff (MAHR'-keef) Morris added 16 as Phoenix ripped Denver 117-103. Frye was 12 of 16 from the field and 5 of 7 from 3-point range before sitting out the last 9 1/2 minutes with the outcome well in hand.
— Nick Young returned from a one-game suspension to score 29 points and Pau Gasol (pow gah-SOHL') had 22 as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Raptors in Toronto 112-106. Young scored 14 points in the fourth quarter as the Lakers overcame a 19-point deficit.
— Arron Afflalo (af-LAH'-loh) had 20 points and 13 rebounds in Orlando's 93-91 triumph over Boston. Tobias Harris added 18 points, including two free throws with 10.1 seconds left to help the Magic end a 10-game losing streak.
