Question:

Does Laramie have any restrictions on chickens residing on property within city limits? More specifically, does the city differentiate between hens and roosters? I understand hens provide eggs but what do roosters than wake neighbors up at 4:30 a.m. on a daily basis?

Answer:

"Pursuant to Municipal Code, chickens and roosters are allowed within city limits. However, a crowing rooster could be subject to the nuisance ordinance just like a barking dog."

Ask the City Of Laramie is your chance to send the city that burning question that you have always wondered about such as: “Why are there so many potholes on Grand Avenue?” or “Why did my water usage rates go through the roof?”

Please note that the City of Laramie will answer as many questions as possible at their discretion.
